Hybrid battery coverage

Toyota raised its hybrid battery warranty starting with the 2020 model year, from 8 years or 100,000 miles to 10 years from the date of first use or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers the hybrid (HV) battery, subject to the terms of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Toyota lists the other hybrid-related components as the HV battery, battery control module, hybrid control module and inverter with converter, covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles. Toyota notes the HV battery may have longer coverage under the emissions warranty; check the Warranty & Maintenance Guide for your vehicle.

Warranty vs. ToyotaCare

The warranty covers repairs under its terms. ToyotaCare is a separate no-cost maintenance plan with 24-hour Roadside Assistance that comes with every new Toyota. You get both.

See our ToyotaCare page for what the plan includes, or ask our service advisors which terms apply to your vehicle.

Where to find your VIN

Have your vehicle identification number (VIN) ready for any warranty question. Toyota lists four places to find it:

  • Your insurance identification card
  • Your vehicle registration card
  • A metal plate on top of the dashboard, on the driver's side near the windshield
  • A label on the driver-side door jamb

Bring it when you book, along with a short note of what you have noticed.
