2026 Sequoia Limited Cargo Shelf: Set the Seats, Then Pack

U.S. 2026 Sequoia Limited. Toyota manual OM0C087U and exact-year specifications. Diagrams show qualitative relationships, not dimensions or measured luggage fit.

If you need the third row for people, choose its seating position before arranging the luggage. Sequoia's third-row slide changes the depth behind the row; its separate cargo shelf changes the above-and-below arrangement. Toyota calls the shelf the deck board and documents stowing, low, middle and high positions.

Compare your tallest item above the board. No object heavier than 220 lb (100 kg) on the deck board. Adjust seats only while stopped; verify locks.

Original qualitative side sections: seat and board symbols are not to scale; no dimensions, exact support locations, flat-floor or bag-fit result is shown. Make seat adjustments only while stopped.

Start with the passengers, then the shelf

Toyota lists the multi-level shelf as standard in the 2026 Sequoia Limited. The third row has a position lever and separate seatback-angle and folding/returning switches. Toyota's 2026 brochure describes sliding the row forward or back to customize cargo space.

With the other choices unchanged, sliding the row toward the front creates more depth behind it; sliding it toward the tailgate leaves less. That is the qualitative tradeoff illustrated above, not a measured legroom or luggage result. Make adjustments while stopped, keep passengers and luggage clear, keep hands away from moving parts, and verify the seat locks.

Height above the board versus space below it

Middle and high place a horizontal board above the base. Raising that board leaves less height above it and more space below it; it does not move the third row. The diagram leaves supports and dimensions out so you can see the relationship. For rearrangement, the manual shows support parts installed on the deck, removed by pushing the claw and lifting; the board lifts out by its strap.

Do not place any object heavier than 220 lb (100 kg) on the deck board. That restriction applies to an object on this board, not total vehicle payload. If a load needs a stronger platform, resolve that requirement before choosing the shelf arrangement.

If a tall bag must stand upright, compare its height with the space above the board in each arrangement. If separating items into an upper and lower group matters more, compare middle and high with both groups in place. Keep the row in its intended passenger position for this check; do not gain luggage depth by assuming a different seating arrangement will suit your passengers.

When the third row will be folded

Stop on level ground, set the parking brake and select P; never fold the seatbacks while driving. The power operation also needs the relevant rear door or back door open, with power OFF or the shift lever in P. Before folding, stow the third-row center belt and buckles and lower the center head restraint. Hold the folding switch until the seatback is fully down and the buzzer sounds; the outside head restraints fold automatically.

Keep bodies clear of moving parts. No one may ride on a folded seatback or in the luggage compartment, and children must not enter that compartment. To return the row, hold the switch until it is fully upright and the buzzer sounds, lock the head restraint back into position and check that the belts are neither twisted nor caught.

Plan the load in two directions: depth behind the chosen third-row position, and height above the chosen board. Ask Peoria Toyota to discuss those seat-and-shelf choices with your luggage requirements.
